Yin Meets Yang: Eating and Moving in Balance

Join international teacher trainer and Samdhana Yoga founder, Alicia Cheung, for her Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) workshop series. Alicia’s love for healthy food and movement has inspired her to draw from her background as a a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, nutritional counselor and movement educator to offer sustainable ways of eating, moving, and living in balance.
Her lecture series will be based on introducing the principles of Yin and Yang as it applies to Chinese Medicine dietary principles, findings in evidence-based movement research, functional anatomy, pain science and fascial health. You will discover new ways to improve joint integrity and neuromuscular function, reduce pain, and narrow the gap between passive flexibility and active mobility, all of which will enhance your existing asana practice. Open to practitioners wanting to deepen their understanding of healthy food and movement, and what it means to live in balance.

I attended the yoga teacher training with Alicia and Oliver in Bali, 2013. It was the most wonderful journey I’ve had. I’ve gained a more in-depth knowledge of what yoga is, and came out of it enriched and enlightened. The 5-week residential format was most conducive as it forces you to leave your life back home behind to completely immerse yourself into the real world, where you are forced to face many internal and external challenges, and overcome your fears in many ways.
